The course will start in November 2010 with two introductory days beforehand. The group will meet monthly, on Saturdays over a period of 2.5 years. The course will be demanding, challenging, fun, enjoyable and possibly a life-changing experience!
Course Details
I am delighted to announce that Dr Ruth Gilmore, who is a well renowned expert in the field of anatomy and physiology, will be the tutor delivering the topic of practical anatomy and physiology. Dr Ruth Gilmore will also discuss precautions in asana.
The Diploma Course covers the theory, practice and teaching of Yoga, including the following topics:
The preparation, practice , modification and teaching of asana.
Simple breathing and relaxation.
Pranayama.
Mudra, bandha and kriya.
History and context of Yoga.
Study of traditional texts including Yoga Sutra, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita.
Course planning and lesson planning.
Theory of teaching and professional studies.
